Ujala Life: Introducing What Families Can Expect With Confidence

Starting ABA therapy for your child can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re not sure what the process looks like. At Ujala Life, we want parents to feel supported and confident from the very first call. There are many steps that go into the therapy process, and we want you to avoid feeling overwhelmed. We have created a clear step-by-step process to help guide families through getting started. Here’s what you can expect:

Step 1: Initial Contact

Everything begins when you reach out to us, whether this is by phone or email. During the initial conversation, we explain who we are at Ujala Life, and the service we provide. Our clinic serves children 2-6 with ASD. We will also answer any questions you may have about the process moving forward. If our clinic meets your needs we will send you a simple intake form to complete.

Step 2: Eligibility Review

Once we receive your paperwork, our team quickly reviews it to confirm eligibility. We know waiting can be stressful, so we work hard to keep this step efficient and timely.

Step 3: Parent Interview

Next, we schedule a one-hour virtual parent interview. This is a chance for you to share your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. It also allows us to better understand how to personalize our services to fit your family’s needs.

Step 4: In-Clinic Child Assessment

The next step is a two-hour assessment at our center, where your bring you child with you. This is a play-based assessment where our team gets to know your child in a supportive and engaging environment. It also gives you the opportunity to see our clinic and meet the people who will be working with your child.

Step 5: Assessment Results

Within one week from the clinic assessment, you will receive a full assessment write-up. This report outlines recommendations, including the number of medically necessary therapy hours (often between 30-40 hours per week). You’ll have the chance to review the report and sign off before we move forward.

Step 6: Authorization & Team Building

While we wait for insurance authorization, we’re busy preparing for your child’s start. This includes carefully hiring and training the technician (RBT) who will work with your child. We take extra care to make sure that the match is the right fit, because the therapist-child relationship is the key to success.

Step 8: Therapy Begins!

Your child will begin therapy with a dedicated 1:1 technician under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). From the start, we work as a team, following consistent protocols and keeping you informed every step of the way. Parents are also included through monthly training sessions, to ensure that you always feel involved and supported.

Step 9: Our Reward System

One of the ways we make therapy fun and motivating is through our token system. We focus on rewarding positive behaviors with things that are meaningful to each child, whether that’s a favorite toy, activity, or special experience within our center. Unlike some places that rely on candy, we empathize with high quality rewards that build connection and joy between child and therapist.

Final Thoughts

Starting ABA therapy doesn’t have to be stressful. Our process is designed to be transparent, supportive, and family-centered from the very first call. Ujala Life is here to help walk you through each step, celebrate progress along the way, and partner with you to help your child thrive.
